It’s a great joy for us to come together to celebrate important events of our faith as a community. As we grow as a mission community it is all the more important that we celebrate the initiating our youngsters and reception of sacraments and enable them to experience the grace and love of God. First Holy Communion represents the greatest expression of God’s love for His people, fulfilling His promise to be with us always.
Our duly prepared young people are receiving Jesus sacramentally for the first time and we are all glad we can celebrate it with them. It is also a time for adults to examine our faith and sacramental life. The preparation with which we celebrate the sacraments and using the grace of the sacraments we grow in our life spiritually and as disciples of Jesus in the world. This life should enable us to love and serve the people God has placed in our lives. May we all approach the altar of God with great devotion and piety.
I congratulate all those who are receiving first Holy communion and pray for them and their families to continue to journey in the ways of the Lord.
